  • You can do the same with the parking brake....

I own a Tundra, and have to admit that this is pretty lame.... Toyota spent allot of money on this system for nothing.... They could have invested in a true locking diff and/or a LSD...

They should have also worked this with the front diff....

  • Tundra is garbage. Period.

  • YEa sorry those of you dumbasses that call this a rice burner i love chevy always have always will but tundra is rigght there with them. my buddies 2007 tundra pulled out his dads flat bed wrecker in wet grass and mud. his has 420HP its a damn nice turck

  • limited slip aint shit in other conditions. G80 locker is were its at. (or the electronic locker if thats what people prefer these days)

  • Toyota is not the only auto manufacturer to re-name traction control. Some examples: Volkswagen/Audi call their traction control: "Electronic Differential Lock" (EDL). Porsche calls its traction control: "Automatic Brake Differential" (ABD).

Ford, Land Rover, GM, BMW, and others tend to call their traction control systems exactly what they are: "electronic traction control". No stylish or catchy names. Though BMW does call its system "Dynamic Traction Control" (DTC).

  • Just for the record, Auto limited-slip differential (Auto LSD) is a misleading trade name Toyota uses for electronic traction control. The Toyota Tundra’s rear differential is a "open" differential. ABS braking (traction control, a.k.a Auto LSD) is used to force the open differential to transfer torque from the slipping wheel to the non-slipping wheel.

The system is effective and works well, but, it is not a real limited-slip differential as its name might imply.

  • THAT SUCKS YOU HAVE TO TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND ON. WHAT THE FUCK, IT SHOULD ALLWAYS BE ON.

  • TOOOOOyoooooTTAaaaa..Recall

  • @211for11 ......Of course it is..... and Toyotas are not built with shotty, poor quality workmanship like the unionized UAW Big three companies!!! And if you want to know what unions are good for just look at what's happening in Madison,WI right now....LOL!

  • @mistaclipse .Congrats on your purchase! You won't regret buying the Yota.... it should give you years of reliable service and you won't be living or setting up shop in the dealer service department like the Big 3 onwers do...LOL!
