Continuing with the blues project from last time, I work on the ending, splicing in some drum fills, and the playing with the tempo of the harmonica using time stretching.

  • In Studio One, is it possible to edit just by selecting an area and cutting it? It seems very complicated to just do a simple cut. Let's say you want to edit out a breath in a vocal track, it appears that you have to use the range tool, then the cut tool. Then you have a big space sitting there. So, you have to use the range tool and select all audio on the right, and manually slide every thing over to the edge of the edit. In most programs, you just hit cut and it's done.

  • @Kosm2000 Yes. Instead of using the arrow tool, use the range tool. Drag over the rang and hit delete! Done.

  • @Kosm2000 i see what you are saying. Look for the "remove time" feature. That will probably work better for what you are trying to do. I am not sure if that has a default keyboard assignment but you can easily make one to make it more accessible.

  • Great tut. Just wanted to share some info I learned today. You can now actually change the key commands to match what ever other DAW you may be used to so you don't have to relearn them or add note cards. Just requires a little extra set up time. Great vid!

  • @Customizurs Yes that is a good point. That feature was added for version 1.5.

  • great tutorials , thank you very much for them!

  • @lully12able Thanks for the input. I will hope to be posting some more S1 videos shortly. I am just finishing up a huge series of training videos on Studio One Pro for Groove3. Stay tuned for more details!

  • Great tutorial, I learned a lot here today. I noticed that your drum midi had been turned into a wav. file. How did you do that? I have some ez drummer loops and was wondering if these loops could be made into a track without the cut marks so it could be turned into a wav.

  • i just bought the package deal with the audio box and there is only two inputs but i need to have 3 (technically 4 but my keyboard has a usb insteand of a midi) how do i add intruments after i finish recording on one of them. because when im doing it the sound wont play or how do i add instruments after i have completed my drum gtrack because right now it won't register

  • I learned about two new things here. Great vid, I subscribed so I can see whats next.

  • @lilacwriter Oh good, I will do that! Thanks

  • @lilacwriter But even then you have a big space. So, you have to select everything to the right and move it to the left and bring it to the edge of the other side. If you are editing a long track, say 20 minutes or so, you have to select all data on the right, in order to move it seamlessly to the left. Is that true or is there a workaround for it?

  • Thanks for the video tutorial, it was very helpful!!!
