The nickname 'Dolphin Gun: Destroyer of Worlds' comes from a Halo weekly bulletin in which 343i were talking about the changes they were making to Halo: Reach with the title update. They believed 85% bloom represented a 'happy medium' where the DMR was more consistent, but the Needle Rifle was not a power weapon. Since the NR is already buffed by 1 shot with bleed-through damage, and is zero bloom even when standing, I personally don't understand how it could have been much better with less bloom.

    *Has emblem in the intro*

*The account he is playing on in the video doesn't have that emblem*

    lolwat

  • @SuperZuescannon Can't get that emblem in Reach. It's ODST only.

  • @MasterRC what do you mean by zero bloom?

  • @Edgehead178 Reticle bloom means that when you shoot too fast, you lose accuracy. However, this no longer happens with the Needle Rifle or with a crouched DMR in the Title Update - you always have near-perfect accuracy for every shot.

Which makes those weapons very powerful.

  • lol reach

  • The NR was 7 Shot before the title update? I always thought DMR 5 and NR 6 Shot

  • @MasterRC I know, I just found that amusing. Too bad they didn't have it in Reach.

Also, I have a gameplay almost exactly like this, just with default Reach :D

Just thought I would mention that since you said you havn't seen anything like it posted before. I could upload it to my fileshare if you want to see it.

Yes, but unlike the DMR in Reach, the ROF dependent accuracy was only in the single reticle. In the DMR in Reach, the interior reticle is the "true" bloom, which is great as it's just like the Carbine. However due to bullet magnetism and those huge hitboxes in Reach, the shots may travel to the outer circle too.

Agree, with this statement. Before bloom was put up as something- It was a non issue. Now, it's great to have a choosing of it. Right now I think they got it all backwards. Pros get the noob shot... While the Beginners have to time the pull. If this was a whole Reach update like I was saying. Maybe that would make sence.

RC have fun getting to the next(whichever it is)! I would like to see more Zero-Broom! LOL

  • And yet still no firefight vs like they promised would be available on release. Honestly, this is too little, too late. I gave up on halo Reach's unfun mechanics and crappy playlists a long time ago. I miss halo 2 and halo 3 matchmaking, those were good.

  • Agree about the NR on Wayont...it was funny before the TU and now it's just a slaughter...you don't even need to aim!

  • @Ins3ktz The Halo 3 BR had the same effect of bloom within each 3 round burst: each shot was less accurate than the last. But the error reset completely before the next burst.

H3 Carbine DID have ROF dependent accuracy, actually. Little known fact.
