@tpstrat14 On wood lanes, the first 20-30 feet is made of maple as maple is a very strong wood that can withstand having the ball dropped on it, then the final 30-40 feet is pine. On synthetic lanes, they don't actually use wood; rather, they use some sort of plastic (I'm not entirely sure what exactly is used for synthetic).

@tpstrat14 I'm pretty sure it's concrete under the lanes. It's a layer of concrete then the lanes are placed overtop.

anyone know what is under bowling lanes? How does a 16 pound ball land on a lane like that and not go right through the floor?!?!
