On the next few weeks things got a lot worse. Joe started bringing Ashley with them on tour and that started this huge urge on Demi to get his attention. To prove to him and everyone else that she was better than Ashley. It was an obsession to have the hair as beautiful as Ashley's, to be as tall as Ashley, as slim as Ashley... Demi spent hours in front of mirrors comparing herself to Ashley. Another thing that she tried to copy from Ashley was the attitude, and that was when things really went down the hill...
Maybe Joe wanted more of a gown up woman and not a Disney girl. Well, that's fine, let's become a grown up woman. And soon enough more revealing clothes had become quite usual for our little girl, secret parties and spicy pictures too. Slowly, her friends were also being pushed away so she could meet new "cooler friends", that included Nick, who was now apparently invisible for her.
He was incredibly sad. "What could have gone wrong?" he asked himself everyday. "Things were working out and now she's totally different. She doesn't even seem like the same Demi and won't let me help her." And that was what she actually needed. Help. Because even though on the outside she was partying and having the time of her life, on the inside she was broken. Every day was a failure. Didn't matter what she did, she was never good enough to compete with Ashley, at least in her head. Every night another cut was made; everyday meals were skipped to get in a better shape; the clothes only lost more and more cloth every time and still Joe wouldn't look at her with the look he gave Ashley. Was she that ugly?
But one day was the last drop to make the bucked turn.
Nick was walking on the hallway when he heard his father and the other people that were in charge of their tour talking extremely loud during a meeting.
-That's enough! - One of them said. - Who does she think she is?! Do you have any idea of how much this will screw her reputation, Paul?!
-Mark, I know... - Nick's dad said sighing -- I know she's going too far, but she just needs help.
-I don't care. She can't finish the tour. Send her home.
-I... I have a better idea... - Denise said softly -- You all know Demi is just like a daughter to me too and I hate seeing her like this... So... I called Diana this morning and we all agreed on sending her to this kind of rehab station... She'll be able to relax and treat her problems with doctors and people who really will be able to help her out of this...
-It's sad, but I don't think we have any other option... - Paul said -- The boys will have to finish the tour without her...
After that it was silent and soon the meeting was over and everyone was out of the room, so Nick stepped in to see his parents.
-Dad, what's going on?
-Son, Demi is leaving the tour... - Paul said, with a sad and worried face on.
