@anima1996 You were correct, it is most definitely French spoken in the Middle Ages. The lyrics were originally composed by Thibaud IV de Champagne in the 13th century, hence modern French speakers will most likely not recognise it is the language of their ancestors.

Faun is from Germany....but the vocals are sung in German, Latin, and several Scandinavian languages.

@adegansaakian It IS French, at least Old french. The Lyrics come from Thibault de Champagne's ( XIII th ct poet) poem,a very wonderful poem.
