@sharinganboy08 it could be your front pannel on your case pressing on the on button, so it just turns off

You also should not push on the cpu. They are made for zero pressure installation.

You are supposed to apply a pea sized dab of compound in the middle of the cpu. When you spread it it can allow air bubbles upon application of heat-sync. With the proper technique all air is released through pressure of the 2 parts coming together.
