WAIT FOR VIDEO TO LOAD ALL THE WAY BEFORE WATCHING TO AVOID SKIPPING!

This is a video from Rhode Island-based punk band, Senior Discount, promoting for their big annual self-headlining homeshow in 2005. It has some live stuff from the big show they played with Monty's Fan Club, it has a music video for the song "Kiss The Girl" from the Little Mermaid, and it has the infamous run-in that Senior Discount had with Streetlight Manifesto. Fun vid to watch if you're getting to know the Discount. If you have any questions about this video or any of the situations or people in it, they can be answered at www.seniordiscountmusic.com

  • if i was tom i would've decked you old talentless hacks.. what are you guys like in ur 30s? if all u have to ur extensive repertoire is "well we opened for (insert nationally known band here)" then its time to throw in the fucking towel

  • @slmanifesto05 Actually the deal was that when we started the band we decided to all finish college before making the band our main thing.

I graduated January 2009 with a Film Degree at 24, and the last self-headlining homeshow we had (about 4 weeks ago) in Providence was completely sold out on our name as the main draw.

But yes, we've opened for a lot of national acts as well(and are in fact co-headlining with Badfish/Scotty Don't at a 2,000 head capacity club this week).

    So no, on both counts.

  • @vbwninja1630 oh alright. honestly though i realllllly realllllllllly don't care. but enjoy ur upcoming show, and maybe if u weren't assholes to bands with more talent/experience than you you'd make it a little further in the industry.

  • @slmanifesto05 Although you really don't care, that was the only run-in we've ever had with bigger bands. And if we could go back in time, I'd love it if our ex-bassist didn't pull any of his bullshit, but I also wish we could have gotten that simple "Hey" for my friend.

  • @slmanifesto05 im with you man these guys are scum bags

  • ANOTHER HERO DOWN THE TOILET

  • Also - after this run-in, he told Victory records about it for some reason - obviously with the intention of hindering a much smaller band, and when we tried to open for Catch 22, the record label said we couldn't, citing what Tom had told them.

PS - we opened for Catch 22 anyways.

  • Thanks for enjoying our stuff.

We've seen them numerous times since. We're big fans of Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Whole Wheat Bread, Mxpx, and all they bands they toured with recently. They're a great band.

To be honest, going into the show I had known of a lot of problems that Tom had caused with ego, including a huge fight with the Voodoo Glow Skulls in Providence.
