I'm positive this was a USAF F-16A stationed at Kunsan AB ROK that collided with a Marine F-4 over S Korea during air to air training in 1983. The F-4's wing tip tore off at the hinge and was lodged in the F-16's engine. The F-16 flat spins until it crashes in mud flats off of the coast while the F-4 was able to safely land at Kunsan AB.

Aegean sea is considered International waters unless within 12nm of Greece or Turkey.

Most modern jets are equipped with fly-by-wire which allows the jets to get close without crashing. the computer controls it all and lets the pilots get close to each other to a certain distance. How to you think the blue angels fly all grouped together closely? thumbs up so everyone knows lol

@faabound Cannon AFB 1987-88, and Lakenheath from '88 to Mar '92. When I first got to the UK, I was working in the 494th weapons- Gator. A year later, I got "elevated" to a weapons load training instructor, so I worked out of the load barn. That was with the 48th AGS and CRS.

@SluggoF16 Sluggo you are right , Knock it off (KIO) is a safety of flight training term. We don't use knock it off in actual ops. I see the argument all the time between Turks and Greeks yet the Hud always says SIM in the lower left corner. KIO is passed between friendly fighters to stop the training immediatley. It is passed on a frequency all players are using . So, two opposing countries wouldn't be on the same freqs. So, not a war over the Agean, a war game somewhere.

@jonesy97 Where did you work 111s and what years, I had a lot of MX bros at Lakenheath.

looks like F117..
-
To me it looks like an F-18 Aggressor. The tail appears to be too tightly close to be an F-22, plus the vid is alot older

@SluggoF16 Yeah, it was a typo. Thx.

@JetMechMA ROE is Rules Of Engagement, and yes, my "IFF" was a typo. Good catch. Of course, I meant IFE. I was in the USAF on F-111's, and working on the flightline, I've seen a lot of them. Usually with that jet, the emergency was- no flaps, no slats. You talk about a damn fast landing!
grgelo. that "version" as you called is a true fact. it was on the news for several days as the both countries came very close to another crises. what exactly you don't believe?

First the source that i take the video is not HAF, second can you understand what the pilot saying? is that Greek or even English?
grgelo 3 years ago
The only part of it I could understand of it was "Knock it off, knock it off." Military pilot-speak for to all aircraft participating in an exercise or event to cease the current flight plan, attain level flight, adapt a situational awareness, and await further instructions. This is usually due to an actual impact either aircraft to aircraft, or aircraft to ground. If you hear "IFF", that's in-flight emergency.

tnx that was very useful!

the both planes are f-16. this happened over the agean sea in greece. the asshole is turkish pilot that overflies over national borders of greece and greek f-16 has intergaged him. last year happened a worst thing by simmular way, and the result. greek pilot dead and the turkish ingured.
FUCK TURKEY FACISM, AEGEAN SEA IS GREEK!!!
