I had the chance to interview one of the National Ballet of Canada's first soloist dancers. The National Ballet of Canada opens their season with Don Quixote on March 5, 2011.

  • @asiavs, I think this fotage in this video is amazing, didn't you got any help with this? And another thing that I like with this video: she looks healthy, not like she ever had anorexia. I like it!

    :)

  • @SunshinepicturesxD Thank you! I did have some help with the filming. A friend and colleague of mine came with me to help film so there were 2 cameras rolling at once.

  • @asiavs Do you know what brand of pointe shoes she wears? I wear Gaynor Minden's and I know that she's not wearing those....

  • @balletlover5500 Ahh I remember we had a discussion about her pointe shoes, but the interview was too long ago for me to remember. Sorry!

  • @juliet5roberts She's now a Principal dancer at the National Ballet of Canada.

  • She's amazing! How old is she?

  • I wish I could dance for 7 hours a day :(

  • @SunshinepicturesxD A ballerina normally is naturally thin, training that much you can't put on weight!! And you need to be very healthy and fit to work. It's not true that so many ballerinas heave eating disorders.

  • What a lovely video. I'm sure whoever put it together is a wonderful person. Probably hot too. I bet that she'll find the kind of love she deserves in life.

  • I love her*-*! What she said is all so true! It's people like her who keep me going!

  • What a beautiful dancer! Her quality of movement is so smooth and clean!

  • She's such an splendid dancer, she shouldn't put so much pressure on herself, although, if you do ballet, specialy professionally, you'd also put a lot of pressure on yourself, so I understand. She's still amazing, thou.

  • I love that they interviewed her and that she was able to share how it's not just physical limitations that can set you back--it's usually psychological. She seems to be very emotionally aware and I'm glad she isn't just another ballet machine who talks about how magical and fairy tale-like (though still tiring) their career is. I like her a lot.
