He may seem like a weak high school boy to some, but he single hanedly killed over 260 German soldiers before his 22nd birthday. He was the most decorated American serviceman of the 2nd World War. Some of his medals (but not all) were: The Medal of Honor, the Silver Star w/ Oak Leaf Cluster (that means he was awarded it twice), Bronze Star w/ Oak Leaf Cluster and Valor Device (again twice) and the Purple Heart w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters (wounded 3 times). That's no high school pushover for sure.

Mr Murphy was a tremendous American hero and a big movie star...and yet if you have seen interviews of him in the 50s, he is as modest and as unassuming as a high school boy. He was a great American.

Ask Poland and all the other countries and Italy under Mussolini who was Hitler's ally if Hitler did not want world, which was Japan, Italy, Europe and Russia if he had succeeded, domination. Japan was an invader long before Hawaii. Ask China, etc.

@Colton8646 Japan had started attacking their neighboring countries in 1937. China was one of them. Japan needed resources. They also attacked some island countries as well. That aggression was what caused the US to cease sending oil to Japan. The US didn't want to keep assisting a country that had turned rogue.
Vietnam turned out bad, but the US was asked to assist the south so it wasn't like the US pushed itself in uninvited.
The guys I served with were all good, honorable soldiers.

@MrMarcoisgod Thankyou for understanding as for Japan they only attacked the US because of Japan having joined Germany, which made the US cut off the oil supply line which Japan having no natural resources needed. While I agree about Vietnam I have spoken to some Germans who remember what happened at the end of WW2 and the allies in Germany. According to the Germans out of all the Occupying troops only the Americans were kind and ready to be friendly to the Germans,
