DC / VA comes to a standstill during storm on January 26th, 2011. Large portions of the commute were lost when I took calls or used my phone to surf the web or play games. But this captures it pretty much.

  • The only thing that kept me from losing it was the fact that I have an iPhone and a BlackBerry.

  • @DigitalSabot. You are right, I just left my car in a parking lot and walked. Traffic wasn't moving at all on Gallows.

  • It took me 9 1/4 hours to get home last night. I left Reston at 3:05PM and was stuck at Leesburg Rt.7 Bypass until 10:45PM when we saw the first snowplow. I got home at 12:20AM and called off work Thursday. VDOT really fell down on the job Wednesday. Snowplows should have been out before the storm hit. Gee weather forecasters had been warning us about it for 3 days.

  • damn! Thank God I moved out of DC area 5 years ago and been working at home

  • Dear God man, 8.5 hours? You could quite literally have gotten out and walked faster!

  • I'd have lost my god damned mind.

  • We'll have to start a whole new mini-war somewhere in the middle east just to pay for the damn gas everyone used up here.

  • LOL! Awesome.

  • Dear God man! How could you do this and not go crazy?!? I feel frustrated just watching!
