Here's a rare old cartoon from 1931 (or maybe a little earlier) which was produced by Ted Eshbaugh in his small (and ultimately unsuccessful)California-based studio. The original was an early two-strip color cartoon but all existing copies I've seen are only b&w.

  • 3:41 imagine having to listen to that in an infinite loop.

  • i'd never even heard or seen this character until i was watching some 90s felix the cat cartoons. then i saw a clip called felix and mickey ripoff. which that character kinda was. then i read the comments that said to watch this and then i did and it made angry cuz its hard drawing an original character in that style.

  • i've drawn a cartoon goat in this black and white style but he's not inspired by this goat he's inspired by gabby goat whom himself may have been an inspired by this goat. But my goat doesn't look like him really. would i face a lawsuit over this or so long as he doesn't act, sound or look like him i'm fine?

  • Yay, Jubalio.

  • Did that pig in that small car say damn?

  • I remember seeing this on TV when I was a little kid, sometime in the 1950s. I remember some of the creepier bits vividly, like that horrible concertina monster. The lady pig, whose bare butt is hanging out the back of her car, the horse in the trough licking its nostrils out with its tongue. Monkey doodle is even more sick and twisted.

  • actually the poster is sorta right, this was the first mass produced colour reel.

  • no it wasn't.

There was a color section even in Phantom of the Opera from like the mid 20's but i don't think even that was the first color film.
