No offence to the great man, but Len Marten on Grandstand used to read the football results in exactly the same way before James Alexander Gordon came along.

I've noticed that it's now played at the end of the sports news on ABC News Radio at 9.40am on Sundays - great to wake up to, especially with an Arsenal win first on the list!
Far better than the ABC sports news reader struggling with some of the lower league and Scottish team names - he regularly pronounced Alloa as if it were an Hawaiian greeting!

It's at round 2:30am EST on the ABC news channel Sunday mornings. they jack the BBC broadcast at nights. you can hear some games.

Wonderful! James is a BBC icon. Being in Australia I greatly miss 5pm on a Saturday - hearing the Sports Report theme and his reading of the football results.
