Gale Morgan, Vice President with Splendido's parent company Mather LifeWays and Retirement Living Contributor on KVOA News 4, explains that laughing (the physiological manifestation of the effects of humor on a person) has been proven to release pain relieving endorphins, lower blood pressure, increase muscle flexion and reduce stress.
