光吾郎氏からの報告を受けて、不安な気持ちで工房を訪れた。まずは蹴りテスト。キーを回した瞬間に工房に響き渡るエンジン音。それだけでも、ちょっと感動的だ。そしていざ­蹴ってみたら、衝撃の高速キックだった。通常のビデオカメラで撮影した映像では、ボールはほんの１コマか２コマしか映らない。我々を不安のどん底に突き落とした「遅くなっ­てるかも」という光吾郎氏からの報告は、勘違いだった。エンジンを搭載したばかりで、操作の感触がまだ十分につかめていなかったことが原因らしい。理由はなんであれ、良か­った。早速、速度測定だ。
