The whole thing was concocted by Brand's agent just so that Brand could get out of his contract with the BBC and go to the states.
And the viewers now have to deal with "compliance" and the middle-of-the-road comedy output that it has spawned.

Forget it! These guys are absolutely and tremendously FUNNY! The show was so funny; I laughed until I cried. Look, take that rod out of the backside and relax - it's nothing devastating that was done... it was just really side-splittingly funny. I'd say anyone listening that day would have been laughing - only some sensationalist journalist got ahold of it and saw the possibility of £ signs in creating a conflict.
