I'm trying to record synth over "come on home - franz ferdinand" mp3.
Using your method I see that bpm are changing almost at every beat...
I'd like to put the mp3 in right time click with logic so I can record on it anything I want... Any hints?

1 thing more ALWAYS< ALWAYS< ALWAYS LOCK YOUR REGIONS DOWN TO SMPTE before beats from region and after flex or detect tempo, adjusting the sequence tempo or detecting beats, Logic takes all it timing info from SMPTE's resolution, hard fought and won stuff for me, not in the manual! Decent video, Regards e

I have spent 1000's and I mean 1000's of hours beat mapping in logic for remixing/mixing. Beat mapping only goes so far, while useful, its not a cure all. Its pretty simple, you are either adjusting the tempo of the sequencer to the file or the file to the tempo or you can do combos of both, many times in a sequence. Beats from region is handy, but almost always, glitchy. Flex time is cool but glitchy too, you lose clarity when you flex time, a lot. The tech isn't there yet, but soon! ;)

How do you get the keyboard on the boottom to record?

using the speech tool... genius!

ok... how do you get the song to play normally with everything lined up after beat mapping? I don't have to listen to the tempo changing like that do I? shouldn't there be a part where , once beat mapped the project returns to a consistent tempo but with the item now beat mapped nicely? stupid question???
