Canonsburg Pennsylvania.. 2 days before July 4th parade 2008

This is the city of Canonsburg Pennsylvania July 2, 2008. This is two days before the July 4th parade. The July 4th parade has become so massive through the years people line their chairs up on the street days before the event. The Fourth of July committee does a fantastic job. I grew up in this town and always loved it. When I was a child debris from a fireworks shells landed in my eye and I had to wear a patch on my eye for days. It happened when I was watching a July 4th fireworks display at the stadium in Canonsburg during the late 60's. I like to tell people that is when the desire to shoot professional fireworks got into my blood. From that day on I always had a passion for fireworks. Through the years I worked on some of the largest fireworks displays in Pittsburgh and the largest fireworks display in the country in Louisville. If you are following my fireworks videos you can see some of them. But I never worked on the one that may mean the most to me and that would be a fireworks display in Canonsburg on July 4th. Perhaps one day.

This video is a REAL TREAT for me! I too grew up in Canonsburg. Went to graduated from highschool there in 1995. Then in 1999 I moved out to Arizona, where I currently live. It's strange in some ways, after living way out West,..to see my home town again on this video. goosebumps for sure! I miss it though. Lots of great memories,...and the Summers in southwest PA are beautiful,..so green! Thanks for this video!

Looks like a 1 day MartiGras...! Man You should try and get a video of the display set up for Cannonsburg this year if you have time. I know thats a busy time for you though. Mom and pop operations are the best.

It is one of my dreams to work this fireworks display since I grew up in this town. I would be happy to just to be a helper/assistant. The company that does this fireworks display on July 4th is called Starfire, he has done this display for years. I met him once his name is Vince. Great guy. I would imagine he is still doing the display each year.
