Bouleversant! Saint Padre Pio, priez pour nous!

@sgal88 the idea of burning heretics was done by states to eliminate political rivals and people they generally wanted to get rid of like Catholic Saint Joan of Arc!

The idea of burning heretics, which was done by the secular authorities, were done to protect the faith whole. If yu want to accuse the Church, then accuse the Protestants, who themselves burned Catholics as well. Yes, love your enemies, but it does not mean to tolerate their heresies. When one loves truth, you must smash it before it takes root. Yes, love your enemies, but Pio would not have hesitated against heresies.

@sgal88 I had no idea you were so far gone. Christ came to love and preach to them, and even allowed himself to be crucified rather than defend himself with violence, but you are advocating torture and murder against people who try to spread his message. Even supposing they got it wrong, it's clear they had good intentions. If Pio could hear you no doubt he'd repeat the words of Christ; love your enemies. And no doubt you'd want to see him burned, just as you'd be among Christ's executioners. :/

@Silenus6 Reformers has translated the bible correctly...lol! They tried to steer away from what Councils and popes before Luther, Calvin and Zwigli had dogmatically defined. The same can be made about Calvin and Queen Elizabeth on any person trying to teach the Catholic Faith or upholding it. If that is your defense, than do try again. Personally, I see nothing wrong burning heretics, which was done by the secular authorities not the Church Herself, for trying to undermine the faith, the truth.

@sgal88 I hear your rhetoric, and I answer you with facts. In 2000, Pope John Paul II (called "infallible") made Sir Thomas More the "Patron Saint of Politicians". More had people tortured and burned alive for correctly translating the Bible into English and for distributing Bibles translated into English so that common people could read it. @Silenus6 >>Accepting Catholic dogma IS the mark of divine truth because God revealed it through his apostles which the Catholic Church rightly has apostolic succession. The Buddhist, the Muslim do not! They are pagan in need to convert if they wish to save their souls. Saints are unique to Catholicism because they are the ones who are in Heaven. Miracles through their intercession have been performed via their intercession.

@Silenus6 Erm, wrong again. If you wish to become a saint, you need to believe in dogma and morals which has been revealed to mankind. This "Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor." The Vatican hoards more wealth than any other organization," shows the magnamous ignorance you actually possess.. First of all, since when can't a religious organization not have money to maintain one self? Second, Vatican official have released paper indicating how much they earn, and they donate that $.

@sgal88 I pray you will break the chains of dogma which bind you from discovering the simple truths of life. Even great souls like Padre Pio have much to learn about God. Saints are not unique to Catholicism, but similar examples of compassionate miracle-workers may be found in every religion. Accepting Catholic dogma is NOT the mark of authentic spirituality. Christ said, "Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor." The Vatican hoards more wealth than any other organization. Case Closed

@Silenus6 Erm, Scripture was inspired by the Holy Ghost put together by men who identified themselves as Catholic. Second, this very Padre Pio, believed in Outside of the Church, which is the Catholic Church, there is NO salvation! This is also a dogmatic teaching binding on the faithful. Just because they seem pious, does not mean they are because they lack the foundamental truths of the faith and they do not receive our Blessed Lord in the Sacrament for sanctity.
Bless us all Padre Pio
