Flying this plane in windy day is like trying to balance a ball on your head.
Unlike those fly-by-wire airplane, this one is all conventional.
We didn't even have outboard aileron.
Also checked out the wind socks. The one at arrival end and midfield were pointing in the opposite directions.

  • wow he came in as fast as he can! I guess Thailand doesn't have the 250kt speed limit under 10000 feet like in the states, and maybe in Europe.

  • @Bizija123 Thailand do have the 'two fifty below ten' speed limit. But mostly it's strictly enforced at the two, centralized, Bangkok airports. However, this is an up country airport with very small number of traffics (averaging 2.4 flights/hr) therefore we can adjust our own speed to our liking and/or accommodating other traffic. Sometimes we heard that the other guy was following right behind us, so we sped up and vice versa.

  • Very nice video, thank you for sharing ! I have roughly 10 months to go to complete my CPL IR ME with frozen ATPL, this just gives me even more motivation !

What's with the laggy altimeter? Would this be considered as unreliable?

  • @Sveninou The lagging standby altimeter is quite normal in older planes.

I'm glad my clip can give someone motivations. Wish you the best. Flight training was one of the best period of time in my life. Learning new things everyday! So much fun.

  • considering the circumstances with the wind and no outboard aileron , that was a very nice landing, you done good to keep the plane lined up.

i have a few quesitons, why did you get the gears out abit late?

also why was you going 260knots below FL100? (10 thousand) i know planes do have permission but what was the circumstances to this?

  • @ImpulsivePlay3r Speed limit is actually depends on each airport. For example Bangkok <250kts below 10,000' for both arrival and departure, Singapore Changi also the same for arrival but no speed limit on departure and other airports have their own numbers.

Here in Chiang Mai, not a lot of traffic so we can pick any speed we liked.

Just before the video began, we deviated bcoz of weather so we have to adjust the glide angle by changing speed.

Although 10 kts is a really small number.
