He plays the Sitar with such fluid motion that the notes seem to move into each other. He displays a total control on each note which I do not find in any other artist. I have been a student of the Sitar for at least 50 years and cannot play a bandish.
Yes we compare him with other sitar greats but you will never find another Vilayat Khan. He does leave a set of recordings that can give anyone who wants to learn a standard by which you can see if you can play just one small piece of a raag.
