  • Do you mean the jumping ones in the background? The Mega Drive can do vertical scrolling on all the tilemap or every 2 tiles (16 pixels) columns. The game uses the latter. The clouds seem to be sprites (Ristar used that trick in some levels to fake more layers - e.g. the trees in Round 1-2).

  • Mhm just care to tell me how the part with the moving pepper mills at the end works? Certainly not just by manipulating the tilemap. Perhaps i'm missing something obvious, i do have some idea of programming on simple consoles, but i don't know the megadrive too well.

  • A download link for the ROM, perhaps?

  • This is totally awesome! You need to get this released! Do you know about pier solar? If your not wanting to get it published you could port it to the Mega CD and publish it yourself

  • All the stuff there is definitely possible without using the 32x actually. The only "weird" thing would be the vertical stretching in the menus, but that's just raster effects.

    Gunstar Heroes did a lot more of abuse actually =P

  • Was this game programmed for Genesis or 32X? Look too good to be Genesis.
