and start to decipher the handwritten message inside.
Wow! IF, and I do mean IF, there was anything of historical signifigance in that bottle, they destroyed it with thier POOR handling. ANYONE who knows anything about handling old parchment would also know that such a parchment is apt to crumble when handled after so many years. And, the parchment doesn't even appear to be authentic. The elasticity of the paper is far too high. This looks like a forgery to me.

why wasn't he wearing some type of gloves? I so would have been wearing gloves when handling it/taking it out of the bottle!
