Saw them in Toronto in the mid 80's This was the opening tune. It all started with a dark lit arena, with some low and eery sound/ambient tone, if I recall it correctly. The anticipation in the crown was building. Then, suddenly, cutting through that sound/tone, the first sonar ping (that piano) - we all went nuts - and the song commenced. I was like: "It is Echoes! They are kicking it off with Echoes!"

@Kuca631, I didn't watch it in 1972, but the movie was aired on TV here in 1974 and I watched it then for the first time... And I did have "Meddle" in 1972. "Meddle" was also the first CD I ever bought and "Live at Pompeii" the first DVD I bought.

@Bonghitter06, I have this on DVD and can't wait to have it in Blu-ray! True that the new "director's cut" is nothing short of murder and absolutely ridiculous, but the best Pink Floyd ever is still the best Pink Floyd ever!

Another step in the right direction for the Brit bands.... Nothing, and I mean nothing was ever close to this.... even today, where the music is fine, but not going anywhere in the future. It was common to hear greatness while not knowing it. Looking back... in retrospect... wish you were here!!!
