Nigerians have enjoyed cheap fuel for decades because of government controlled prices, but are now facing a big price increase, as the government plans to end the fuel subsidy.

Many Nigerians fear the move will send the cost of living skyrocketing.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Bayelsa State, in the oil rich Niger Delta.

    -Boko Haram and its support in parts of the North

    -Corrupt Government

    -Poverty, not overpopulation.

  • can this minister or anyone tell why would a nation in opec and a country that produces oil be importing oil its ridiculus all because none of this politicians can be bothered to open a refinery or even maintain the existing refinery we have and dont forget we produce oil, its like suadi that produce oil as its natural resource now sign it off just to buy it back omg God save our educated illetrate leaders

  • @dovelov Thank you for the information but what i heard is that as at december, Mrs Okonjo-Iweala promised the re-evaluation of the subsidy?

    I hope all the money made from the subsidy removal will not end up in foreign accounts.
