I am happy to know that some catholics are now beign baptized by the holy spirit and speaking in tounges alot of catholics don't believe it or don't want to because they think it s fake or it's a pentecostal or protestant thing but they are totaly wrong it is the empowering of the holy spirit. All I got to say is it's about time~ and praise God for those who are believing and being filled. Amen

@mysrt4303 Yes he was. I am a charismatic Catholics and when the people in my church pray in tongues it sounds the same.

@patkiely2007 Yes i love the charismatic movement. it has gotten me close to God and has made me give myself completely to him. Unfortunately, here in the United States most Catholics are against it because they don't understand it. In Latin America most catholics perform charismatic retreats so only in the hispanic community here in the United States is more easier to find the charismatic movement.

What are charismatics? One of our priests in Roman Catholic church is charismatic, so what is the deal?

Here are some Quotes from our two Popes: "Let us rediscover dear brothers and sisters, the beauty of being baptized in the Holy Spirit;let us be aware again of our baptism and our confirmation, sources of grace that are always present"-Pope Benedict XVI. "Come Holy Spirit, and make ever more fruitful the charisms You have bestowed on us"-Pope John Paul II.

Yes. Full communion with Rome. I experienced myself this hole grace at Catholic Renewal ..

@pypox Hey, i know how you feel. Here's my humble suggestion.
Pray the litany of humility (i can't post links or this'll be marked as spam) and attend Mass with a humble and fervent longing for God. Do not receive if you have not gone to confession or are not in the Catholic church officially.
Afterwards, speak to the priest about your need, and desire for Jesus. He will be incredibly happy at this, and if you want, can set up monthly meetings to discuss your spiritual journey. God loves you!
Are these people in full communion with Rome?

hi jinkasima,
Yes they are. Eddie Stones and his wife also run a house of prayer which is also approved by his local bishop.

The late great Pope John Paul 2nd encouraged the charismatic movement within the catholic church. The catholic charismatic movement may have started after and be similar too the pentecostal movement which began in 1906,but is now the fastest growing section of the catholic church in the world.

This comment page is not for personal attack, but was created to show another side to catholicism....like using the gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as healing....
Any future personal attacks will not be tolerated on here.
Catholics have the right to choose how they worship God,provided it is not against church teaching.
