This video shows an Asian lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis), cleaning her appendages. Although a helpful garden predator, this species is an invasive species in the United States. Ladybugs are a type of beetle and belong to the insect order Coleoptera. Looking closely you can see the exoskeleton, movement of jointed appendages and the hooked foot adaptations for climbing and securing prey.
