BBC Australia Correspondent Red Harrison Dies

One of the biggest influences in my life as a teenager was the BBC's Australia correspondent Red Harrison. His reports both fascinated and educated me about life in Australia and helped influence me to come here. I sadly woke up this morning to hear he had passed away at the age of 75 in a Sydney hospital. He helped inspire me and influence my decision to come to Australia. I will always be thankful and never forget his reports of life Down Under.

As a friend of Red's of more than thirty years, I would like to thank you for taking the trouble to post what is obviously a heart-felt tribute to this great newsman.

Red's memorial service will take place on Friday, June 27, at 2pm at the Cobbity Church, near Camden, where he lived.
