A short time after bringing Jolie home she swallowed a polished stone. It was in a decorative tray that was actually blocked off by her dog crate within a few days of her arriving; but before it was blocked off, she found it. She had it in her stomach for about two weeks before it actually caused a blockage. We rushed her to the vet after noticing a loss of appetite and energy, and had x-rays taken. Immediately the obstruction was visible, and surgery was the only option. It was a Saturday afternoon; we had to take her to the emergency vet after the surgery for overnight observation and I.V. meds/fluids. She is doing much better now, we just have to keep an eye on her.
