Yea he's the most celebrated and well known man in the entire country that day. You don't deny the winner of vasaloppet anything on the day of his win. These are very good athletes and the distance is twice that of normal long distance cross country skiing. These guys can process and metabolise oxygene better than most other athletes in the business, since both upper body and lower body works hard, it draws loads of oxygene-rich blood!

How much of a factor does drafting play here?

cant say in % but its definitely important, tho not as important as in road racing since the speed is lower. The leading man also has a rougher unpolished surface and the snowcat throws some debris in front of the leader.

as a rookie, we will judge you mildly. Nr 15 is definitely the man, not to mention this is his 3rd win, which puts him in a pretty exclusive group. Everybody loves a Vasalopps-winner, don't think he will have any trouble finding a proper job after this career is over.
