Hummingbird COMBAT in SloMo Casio EXF1 Pro

Over 5 days of filming using a Casio EX-F1 pro high speed camera of very aggressive hummingbirds in slow motion. These are all black-chinned hummingbirds in Central California, and almost always the aggressors were females. The hummingbirds may seem like gentle and cute creatures but this video should convince you how mean and brutal they are to each other.

They are very difficult to track with the camera, all camera work was done free-handed. I used a lot of 300 FPS since it gives me a larger frame to work with and higher quality imagery. Still, you can see how much my human-reactions lag in a few of the scenes behind the hummingbirds which seem to have an incredibly fast reaction time.
