  • Gi, no gi, i dont care jiujitsu is and always will be an amazing sport

  • The gi is basically a sweat suit and it makes sense to train in one for a number of reasons. First off, it cuts down the skin to skin contact, I dont like sweating all over my partner and vice versa. Second, it simulates regular street clothing which is good if you train jiu jitsu with an emphasis on street self defense. But no gi is also good, people should do both if they can.

  • eddie bravos jiu jitsu is for mma.. hes trying to improve jiu jitsu for mma and no gi.. People arent getting his point.. its pretty sad..

  • if you come from a gi back round u can still hang with no gi i dont think it works the other way around

  • No gi fighting makes sense only for those that strip naked before fighting.

  • gi, no gi, whatever i would compete with jacket and jeans, i love jiu jitsu

  • Both gi and no gi training has it's place. Simple as that. Watch Keith Owens video for a great explanation to the benefits of both gi and no gi training.

  • How about naked jiujitsu?

  • I don't understand the need to move away from Gi training when he' so convinced that they're completely different styles. It' like saying "Oh, well we have kick-boxing now so let's move away from boxing".

    C'mon now...

  • @sublime2744 Well I don't think there is a relation between Gi and skill.

  • @TruNikkaz

that being said, i prefer to grapple no gi, because im not very strong not quite as good as the bigger guys in my class are, their grip keeps me from doing much. without the gi, i can actually stand a chance. and i feel it evens out a little more as far as size

  • Eddie doesn't think that Gi training is useless, he just thinks no gi is more important for mma. he actually said gi training is most practical for the street

i personally love gi training because im not an mma fighter. i train in bjj, wrestling and striking, but i dont plan on competing. but i love the gi, because it allows your clothing or the opponent's clothing for very quick fight ending chokes

  • No Gi all day

  • From my observation of both gi/no-gi, I can tell that gi requires you to be more technical and thinking critically about your next move. You depend on the leverage and movement of your opponent rather than muscle out of every position like alot of no-gi grapplers do. I like both and I think they are equally effective in their own right, which is why you should train both to make you well-rounded. No-gi is great for MMA because most guy don't wear gi in a fight these days, but great for training.

  • @sublime2744 the gi helps zero in mma period..

  • whats the move he done 1:08?

  • Hi all can some 1 tell me the move he does 1:09???

  • I love both.

But, I am starting to like no-gi better since bigger guys can't take a rest by holding on to me.

  • @918Anon vinny won the no-gi worlds at blackbelt level in 2007.

  • @poganla123 Vinny never won the worlds at Black Belt even once. He's lost almost all his fights in the US. Only wins fights against people in some promotion run by mafia in Russia.

  • @918Anon dude i have nothing to do with no athletic commision, all i kno is that pezao has some of the best jiu jitsu ever, multiple time world champion, but yet he seeks 10th planet for mma jiu jitsu and so far he's being succesful in mma. all people like you can do is hate but the fact is even super high level jiu jitsu blackbelt like vinny seeks 10th planet for mma.

  • @poganla123 In Russia, against nobodies, with no Athletic Commission....

  • @918Anon hehehe when vinny fought in tuf he was using his style of jiu jitsu whic was world class but not the best for mma, vinny realised this and started trainin 10th planet jiu jitsu now he's won like his last 8 matches
