This piece for orchestra with choir was composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams for the enthronement of Cosmo Gordon Lang as Archbishop of Canterbury in 1928.

  • This remains my favourite version of the Te Deum! However, I do much prefer it on Organ rather than with orchestra. Something decently big though, such as a late 19th-Century 3-manual English organ with about 40 stops.

  • I have waited years to hear what this piece sounded like, it was played in St Pauls at the opening of the Festival of Britain of 3rd May 1951.
