This looks really good to apply to someone with a good triangle defense.
-
@dalhousie44 i usually use this when their stacking on me when im applying the triangle
-
Why not just go for the triangle, your left knee is basically in front of his right shoulder, so why not just pop it over and go for a finish?
-
This is a really cool and interesting technique, but I'm curious, if I'm that close to a triangle, why not just go for the triangle?
-
"He's home aloning it" hilarious!
-
i tried this today and my partner just posted his hand and stopped my sweep. what i am doing wrong?
-
could you hurt your knee if they resisted hard?
-
i have 2 words. they're my favorite words in mma and jiu-jutsu. RUBBER GUARD
-
@reedb13 you would get the sweep, but you wouldn't have as many submissions readily available without doing the zombie first.
-
@KillerKid you cant finish the trianlge cause hes got both arms inside tucked in around his neck...i guess half way through u can "try" to go to the triangle.. once his arm is hooked on ur leg, might as well finish the sweep and go straight for the armbar, if the guy manages to defend the arm bar i guess thats wheree i would transition to the triangle
Would this move work without doing the Zombie? Like in the Meat Hook to Triangle vid you posted?

I have something called articulated hips which basically means I am double jointed in the hips, so I have great natural flexibility. The problem is that I have really short legs. I have only been training jiu-jitsu for about 5 months and I am wondering if the rubber guard is practical for s short legged guy like me?

The only way to know is start playing around with the system. ALL jiu jitsu is molded to our specific body types. That is why it is such a wonderful art. If one thing doesn't work for you, you can tweak it and do something else. There is no ONE way to do something (although many would make you believe this is so). Find your path and develop YOUR game...you'll be better off for it.

it seems like theres no leverage for pushing that arm up so you could hook it... im just saying it doesnt look easy, the leverage is against you, you trying to push his arm up from the bottom... i could be wrong, is it actually easy?

yes....super easy in fact. It is one of those things that doesn't took like it should work but does.
