Part 1 on how I use the Leigh D4R 24 inch dovetail jig to make variably spaced half blind dovetails. Several people have inquired about my use of the jig to make dovetail, so I figured this was a good opportunity.

It is fast and easy. I am grateful to the owner of my local woodcraft for talking me into it.

Enjoy,

Grub

  • Dude, spraying silicone on any surface that will come into contact with wood is asking for trouble when finishing. While shellac is very forgiving others will fisheye on you in a hearbeat. Good vid.

  • your fingers are sticking because you are not pushing down or taping on the screw to release the wedge that clamps the finger to the bar. it says it in the instructions. silicone and wood are a big nono. It will destroy your finish if any rubs off on the work piece. I use Johnsons paste wax on all of my tool surfaces. its amazing and will not harm finishes.
