Tutorial For Recruiting Kecleon

In this video, I demonstrate what I believe is the best method for Recruiting Kecleon, the hardest pokemon to recruit. You don't have to follow everything I say, but I do my best to explain everything. The Annotations will explain everything and Further Notes below.


Further Notes:
Kecleon Shops appear mostly in Wyvern Hill and the Desert Region. The Desert Region is a better place to go if you can ignore the Sand Storms. Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Psyduck, Golduck, and Ground, Rock, or Steel type pokemon, or a pokemon with Sand Viel, can all ignore Sand Storms.

Kecleon has a -33.9% Recruit Rate. Level 91-100 pokemon get a boost of 24%. Friend Bow gives an extra 10%. 34 - 33.9 = 0.1%. So 1 out of every 1,000 Kecleon will join, and each attempt will take about 30 minutes before you are forced out of the dungeon, provided that you don't take forever on making your actions.

The Friend Bow can be found on floor 30 of Mt. Faraway, you need a key too. X-Ray Specs can be found in dungeons or sold at the Kecleon Shop at Pokemon Square.

Surviving the Kecleon can be a drag while trying to recruit it. If you're using Torkoal or a pokemon with Clear Body ability, and you have great defense, you don't have to worry about Screech or Tail Whip. If you have Sound Proof, you don't have to worry about Screech. Those who rely on just evasion and not defense, watch out for Faint Attack. Those who rely only on defense, watch out for Screech and Tail Whip. Everyone, watch out for the combination of Screech and Fury Swipes.

I plan to do a tutorial for pokemon mystery dungeon exploration team, Time/Darkness aka, pokemon mystery dungeon 2, however, it will take some time since I still haven't completed the story yet when I posted this. I already have all the needs in my DS's file but not in the emulator, and because of the quality of my camera, you won't be able to see anything there.

yeah.. every dang time I try and rob Keclon, about 98% I would die, and even if I used a pure seed to teleport to stairs Keclons would randomly appear out of nowhere (I'm Lv: 100) and litterally kick-my-ass. or my team mates would shield me as I got to the stairs and escape the Keclon's wrath.

The first time I stole from kecleon I petrified and was like take that sucker but suddenly all my ways to the stair were invaded by them. I saif goodbye to my good items -_-
