  • what type/model of compression sack is that? and who made the sleeping pad again? I couldn't make it out.

  • @karlhungusjr1 the sleeping bag is the US Army Patrol bag. they come in green or now grey. the sleeping mat is guide series self inflating but have since upgraded to the NEMO Zor 3/4 length because it is lighter. the pouch for the sleeping bag is a compression sack from my slumber jack bag. the bivy sac is from Adventure Medical Kits. the zipper is from the hardware store and for sticking on the average utility tarps. prices i dont recall sorry. i hope this helps you out.

  • i'm a hammock guy myself, and my mat would always move around,so i created a cool 'sleeve' i guess. That generic non skid rolls that you place on your shelves, that porous foamy, lightweight stuff,i found some that was about 24"x72".I also used a stretchy t-shirt material bed sheet, cut them both to the shape of my air mattress, then sewed them together, with just a zipper on one end.slide the air mattress into the 'sleeve', and my air mattress has yet to slip and slide...

  • @ZOMBIELANDakaUSA after this video i found shoe goo worked great for adding little silcone drops all over the underside and now it dosent slide anymore. your way sounds like a good fix as well.

  • @NotAUserToday07 the new fully synthetic version regains there loft after taking it out & shaking/fluffing them a bit. not talking about ones with fill. bags need to be stored uncompressed yes but not always because the compression ruins them. some bags compression doesnt matter these need to be aired out thuroughly but can be stored compressed. i have done so for years and they work just fine. if they had down or some kind of loose fill then they need to be left uncompressed. it depends on bag

  • @FixedByDoc Man,with this comment you lost all credibility. All sleeping bags have the same insulating material: air. Whatever's in the sleeping bag is just there as loft to capture air and prevent it from moving around. All sleeping bags suffer from extended periods of compression.

How you treat your own gear is no-one's business but your own, but when you are trying to broadcast yourself, such glaring inaccuracies are just warning signs that you don't understand the topic at hand.

  • @FixedByDoc

sweet, i never thought about shoe goo...i'd give a shot for sure. If i didn't hate youtube so much i'd have probably posted of my do it yourself vids, but i certainly appreciated yours...thanks

  • @BallisticPenetration

great point, so easy to forget, now i better go unpack my bags!!!!

  • @BrokenAeroVT sorry i have no way of weighing them. but each item is less than a pound except the green sleeping bag which is approximately 2lbs.

  • Could you put the weights of the components in the description?
