@antfreire You're right, but if one adopts a posture of lengthened back of neck, which brings the chest up automatically, with the other basics of proper support in place, one can begin the journey.

this is about as flawless, technically as it gets. Obviously, many other tenors with lighter, higher instruments, don't need to consistently cover as low as Giacomini does, but his vibrant passaggio work is something to be awed by. MAESTRO!

I Sang with Mr. Giacomini in San Francisco. Great voice! but a nervous reck

I heard him many times, and believe me it wasn't even close, his voice was a LOT bigger in the house than Domingo's, whom I admire a lot, by the way.

His singing is amazing. But, a suggestion to young tenors; "Don;t try this at home" if you don;t have the right equipment it can ruin your voice for life.

Thank you so much for this post. It is wonderful to see clips of him in his prime. He is still amazing into his sixties, but this is just beyond beautiful. Everyone marvels at his power, but one must never forget his artistry. He is a wonderful musician.
