Having a gun allows you a chance. Allot of people use them to defend themselves all the time. Nobodys going to buy those lies lay down and give up. And nobody will buy into excuses for violent criminals. The fact you people defend those criminals assures nobody in this natio will ever buy into your nonesence.

And it's because they sneak in that only very rarely do people actually use their guns with success, most of the time it's just theft or homicide ... it's the situation that decides if you win, not the fact that you have a gun. That's why soldiers die even though everyone has a gun !!!

I propose you apply the same regulations to guns than to cars and you'll see the deaths that can be avoided by guns drop down ... just like drunk-driving is forbidden, there should be a strict regulation about who can access guns ...

Wow man why are you SO against gun owners, and so apt to just remove them from everyone??? You act like criminals are in the habbit of just breaking down the door to a house when people are sitting in the living room drinking coffee. They wait til night, sneak in quiet, and steal your shit, only once in a while does any B&E turn into a homicide, and many don't because the owners brandish a gun coming down the stairs and the crook runs because they are not armed. How fucking thick are you???

So do you also propose banning personal vehicles for "public safety". Accidents happen, with guns, with cars, with knives, with hair dryers, everything. The fact of the matter is the number of people who die in these accidents is still significantly low considering the global population. We have had guns in this country since the beginning, its not going to change now because some bleeding hearts are up in arms about the minority of gun owners. There are always bad people in a group urs included

*politicaly. Further these vast generalazations are just more indication of the narrow minded bigotry of outsiders. You make the same mistakes so many have accused Americans of. Basing judgement on sterotypes, movies, and slanted media punditry. We took ownership of these weapons seriously enough to have many Sherriffs prepare for conflict with the federal goverment as well as our own people. The idea of of some yahoos shooting into ceilings is a myth that outsiders want to believe.

I understand that for law-abiding citizen and 'used to them' families, it seems hard to understand that the number of accidents is higher but unfortunately, America is also full of families where buying a gun is not taken as seriously. And I think that even with background checks it would be very hard to determine the seriousness of a gun holder, it already is with car owners and accidents ...

I don't believe the number of accidents is fabricated ... and it is rather way above the number of successful self defense that happen and it is quite easy to understand that too. There was a three-year-long study in Texas that counted the number of victims by gun which counted two homicides for more than a hundred accidents or suicides ... as I said, it is fairly easy to understand that since anyone can access guns ...

THats just backflipsof illogic to arrive a pre desired conculsion. And in fact seveal of them were at home. Not that it matters. The location has no bearing on it. Crimnals strike anywhere and 49 of our fifty states have some form of carry laws. As those were instituded crime drop. Criminals prey on the weak. Often just showing you have a weapon is enough.
