Fun fact, the Lauren Belle is actually another steamboat in disguise, the Ship assist tug PORTLAND which now rests on the Waterfront in Portland ORE.

the twist at the end was amazing, i kind of thought James and Mel were con partners but as it turned out they're actually more than that (father & son) hahahaaha Great movie, you can never go wrong with this one :)

This is a great film to watch to show people Jodie Foster's range who think she can only pull off tomboyish serious roles. She is so feminime, charming and funny in this movie.

damn, even for great movies; 90s trailers sucked. Trailers may still be formulaic, but at least they eased off this style.

It's a great movie, very funny. James Garner and Mel Gibson are great. And Judy is fantastic.

The music playing in the background is not from Maverick, but from The Big Country, it played during the showdown scene between Charles Bickford and Burl Ives, Jerome Moross composed it and adapted it later for the main score for The Valley of Gwangi. One of Doug McClure's last movies., he was diagnosed with the lung cancer from which he died during filming
