Anything with a Metisse frame is pretty much guaranteed to stop any classic enthusiast at least for a few moments inspection but when, or perhaps that should be if, you come across a Velocette engined Metisse, then take time out to have an even closer look than usual because it will be one of just six such genuine roadsters ever built. He [?] is quite WRONG in saying all Velo's should be black.. the factory produced them in Cream, Green, Red and Thruxtons in Silver Blue.. Black is HIS preferred choice.

What is wrong is the film quality.. given that it supports a magazine article.. the quality is VILE..

  • That bike sounded RIGHT with a good exhaust note and NO rattles like so many other Velocette's i have heard after a so called rebuild.

As i am an old Velocette owner I know what these bikes should sound like and this one is exactly that, the color is not good as they should all be black with alloy or chrome guards but it is a credit to its owner/restorer he has done a proper job on this machine happy miles to all of you guys.

  • I think that this for sale at Venture Classics at the moment

  • A friend of mine had two rare Velos in Australia, a Matisse and an Indian Velo. I have no idea what happened to him or them but they were both pretty unique and romantic machines.
