Georgians of Iran - English Subtitle

The history of the Georgian community of Iran can be traced back to the period of the Safavid dynasty in the early seventeenth century and the conflict between the two countries, when Shah Abbas 1 relocated thousands of Georgian captives to scarcely populated areas of Iran. These communities mainly settled around Isfahan, and in Mazandaran and Fars. Fereydounshahr to the west of Isfahan has one of the largest communities of Georgians and the residents named it Mardghopi after a location in Georgia.
In the multimedia report on this page we visit Fereydounshahr and several villages around it and hear from Saeed Moliani, an Iranian scholar of Georgian descent who tells the story of the Georgian communities of Iran.

Georgian shop has written DANIALI NUGA english meant DANIAL's CANDY but correct must be write only DANIELIS NUGA ... DANIEL meant ( God sends you ). but the word DANIEL is not Georgian language .

@emcedion i dont know about armenians but ancient georgians and persians had a long friendship and our rulers were getting maried to make the us more friendlier to each other also persians were respecting georgians in all ways many even feared them and used them in front lines for example some say that the immortals were iberian troops that went to help in the persian-greco war ! i dont think persians (iranians) ever wanted to kill all georgians !

@MegaHitman666 no woder...that you may travel to iran and you can not find one and only one Lithograph or paint from ancient era that shows iranians or other races (under iranian kingdom) with chains or being slave or with sad faces. it's really strange, now go to greece and rome...you will see the different worlds.... yes, kurds and turks and atrodians(azeri) and Armenians and Georgians lived til now, we didn't slaughter them... instead we call/ed them our Compatriots.

@MegaHitman666 Sorry, iranians are foreigners in middle east, they came from Siberia! i don't know exactly when...what you said refer to something else...when we talk about ethnics we call white skin people: "caucasian or indo-european", it has nothing to do with origin of iranian...iran came from arya-ee(stupid europeans call it aryan) and arya-eeآریایی means "Freeman"...my ancestors didn't know about slavery, they though that humans shall be always free...

@iraninfo his information was 100% incorrect,it's shame for you that foreigner gave wrong info to you and you like typical middle east people say thank you: Danial was iranian jewish prophet so danial is right..just like "george". it came from iranian word for wolf: gorgگرگ. after arabs invaded iran.arabic from of gorg will be spelled : jorj because arab don't have "g",it went to north in russia and they turned it into georgi گئورگی. you don't have any idea about iran, do you?
