"Fourteen Days Of Hell On An Ice Cap" (16 MB Compressed)
A true story from World War II of David Harrison Goodlet - Captain, Arthur Weaver - Sergeant, and Al Nash - Navigator who crash-landed on the Greenland Ice-cap while flying Ferry Command for the RAF. This is their ordeal of how they survived those 14 days of "Hell".
Wish I had seen this strip when researching my book - Ocean Bridge: the History of RAF Ferry Command (U of Toronto Press & Midland Publishing, 1995; UTP paper, 1997); had I obtained permission and used it, it would have enriched the gripping tales of many of the Greenland crash landings. Some of the survival stories absolutely amaze us today as much as they did people at the time (the few who knew much of the detail). Carl Christie
