Revising COPPA: TechFreedom & FOSI Panel on FTC's Kids Privacy Proposals

The FTC has finally released its long-awaited report on the implementation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A panel of children's privacy experts and COPPA experts explored the FTC's proposed changed to COPPA and what they mean for Internet services, innovation, free speech, privacy and child safety. This discussion was co-hosted by - TechFreedom, a non-profit, non-partisan technology policy think tank - the Family Online Safety Institute, an international, non-profit membership organization working to develop a safer Internet by identifying and promoting best practices, tools and methods that also respect free speech.

FOSI CEO Stephen Balkam served as master of ceremonies. Phyllis Marcus of the Federal Trade Commission gave opening remarks and then joined a panel moderated by Berin Szoka, President of TechFreedom, including:
