Me and my schoolmates Star Wars lightsaber duel. It has some flaws but I think it came out pretty good. This will surely be a contender to the other youtube Star Wars clips. We fight both with one and two lightsabers, use lightning and force push. The "Star Wars-feeling" is a lot higher here than the other homemade duels(I consider the best ones to be Ryan vs Dorkman 1&2 and Art of the saber). We trained a long time for the coreography too and I think it shows. Since we didn't have any significant After Effects knowledge we used Photoshop and drew in the sabers frame by frame. That means over 4000 pictures. It took some time.
Update: I've gotten some negative feedback on this movies supposed flaws. Ok the one about the intro being too long I agree on it probably should've just said "JUST WATCH THE DAMN DUEL" and scrolled by but, alas. The other claim that it is boring and without that Star Wars-feeling I can't understand. Actually I'm shocked. Do you people have eyes? Have you seen a Star Wars movie? Maybe glasses aren't star wars but are short short and tshirts that? Sunglasses, living rooms and garages? At least our set was dark. Our costumes were well done. The duel itself is fast and good too and not with as much "fluff" as other videos, much more variety. But I guess you can't see that. You all have you blast shields down and can't see the fight. Pity.

pretty slick. did you guys dig up sound effects from STAR WARS games for some of the other, non-saber sounds? I recognize several of them

I know how hard these are to make, believe me. This was really really well done! I the lighting, roto work, choreography, it was great!

After After Affects is much easier to use then Photoshop in saber effects.

That was meh...
Your lightsabers look more fluffy than glowing. Choreography was better than a majority of the stuff on YouTube since it wasn't entirely stick bashing, but could still have been a ton more exciting.
Good effort though.
