New Appropriate Technology - Low Cost Renewable Energy and Clean Tech for Developing Countries John Barrie
This session will present several different appropriate technologies that can be made by Makers everywhere. John Barrie will share designs for a "Thermoacoustic Engine", which is in-process at the A2 MechShop. The TA Engine is really simple to make. Their goal is to generate 20 watts for $20.00 using only waste heat from a wood stove as a heat source. He'll also cover treadle pumps for rural farmers, solar LED light that can replace kerosene lamps, woven windmills that are high efficiency wind turbines made by local weavers, and a solar vaccine refrigerator for use in rural Africa.
