I use a rotary cutter and at one time i made several tops a week and certainly no damage to my joints

zazmau maybe YOU should consult a professional before making assumptions. What he says is true. Rotary cutting CAN CAUSE C.P. and R.C. impairments. AND also exacerbate either of the two injury's. But then again...if you are truly a P.T.....licensed one that is....you already know this. So move along.

As a Physical Therapist and a quilter I find it hard to believe that cutting with a rotary cutter can 'cause' carpal tunnel and nearly impossible to believe it can 'cause' a rotator cuff tear. It could exacerbate carpal tunnel but 'cause' it? I don't think so. As for 'causing' a rotator cuff tear I don't see how that is physically possible. Perhaps you should consult a professional before making assumptions.
