April 1, 2000 - In Ann Arbor, MI, on the Diag at the University of Michigan, 5,000 people gather for the 29th annual Hash Bash. First is Elvy Musikka, who has glaucoma and is one of the legal medical marijuana patients receiving medicine from the U.S. government. Then Jack Herer, author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", tells what's involved in the ballot initiative process in CA and AK. Finally, the late Chef Ra, culinary editer at High Times Magazine, stirs the crowd. Police then approach for the traditional "Cutting of the Power" to the sound system at the end of the Bash's alloted time.
