The gorgeous landscapes of F.E. Church and the music of Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Spring. I know I've used the music before, but I can't seem to find anything that goes so well with American landscapes.

  • Thank YOU for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!

    Peace.

  • Beautiful! The seascape at 00:36 is magnificent! What strikes me while viewing the various landscapes is that several of them remind me of the art of Claude Lorrain..that mystical, other worldly glow he infused his work with. Thanks for another visual treat Brendafohio!

  • Whoa, I would've thought I was the only one who listens to Appalachian Spring while looking at Church's paintings. Awesome video!! :D

  • Munson Williams Procter Museum in Utica, NY and the Fenimore House in Cooperstown have excellent exhibits, as does perhaps the best museum in NYS, (slightly biased) The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mtn. Lake, I have not yet been to Olana in Hudson, but hope to.

  • It's amazing how we can go on for days and come back to the land. I miss John Muir.

I miss Sir Muir very much...

  • What a Great Painter!

    Wonderful Video.

  • The song is a quaker song called Simple Gifts

  • All the painters from the Hudson River School are the Greatest Masters

  • Nice....FYI though, Copland is not spelled with an e...

  • Magificnet-what a gift to us all. Thank you

  • @brendafohio Thank you (wink)

  • THis is very nice; if you need music that goes with such images, and have exhausted Copland, you should try Samuel Jones, Don Gillis, and Howard Hanson, all great American composers. I would especially like to see videos made to the movements of Jones' delightful ROUNDINGS, available on Naxos.
